  • Base pay is guaranteed. It is your hours times your hourly rate, whatever your defect rate or the store numbers turn out to be.
  • Earn 3% seniority pay each year, up to 10%, on the hourly pay.
  • Seniority raises your base hourly rate only. The store bonus per hour (Section 3) is added on top and is not increased by seniority.

  • Your position earns commission on local sales only: 10% of your local sales, always paid.
  • Commission on your own orders ($5 per whole unit) is for skilled technicians who are fully trained. It does not apply to your position.
  • You need a defect rate below 3% to earn commission. Local sales commission is always paid.
  • Commission applies on all whole units (new, used and fixup orders).
  • Order defects: orders that cause a replacement shipment, partial refund, store credit or negative review count as 0.5 defect.
  • A return or exchange that leads to a full refund or costs 2-way shipping counts as 1 defect (a returnless exchange or return counts too).
  • Defects and returns due to buyer remorse, user error or shipping issues are capped at 3%.
  • Parts and supplies orders do not count toward commission, but each counts as 0.5 whole unit prepped, which dilutes the defect calculation (and HPU).
  • This calculator counts every warranty and return you enter. It cannot tell why a return happened.

  • Bonus pay is paid per hour worked, on top of your base pay. The two bonuses stack: one for the store defect rate and one for the store HPU.
  • Both numbers are store averages for your location, so everyone at the same store lands in the same tier. Lower is better for both.
  • Parts and supplies orders count as 0.5 whole unit when the store defect rate and HPU are figured.
  • The offered bonus pay is subject to adjustment, clarification, or revision as needed.
